First Steps to Shaping Little Futures is your perfect starting point – a supported pathway into the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

This introductory program gives you a real taste of studying and working in early childhood settings, including:

  • Childcare
  • Kindergarten
  • Family Day Care
  • Outside School Hours Care (OSHC)

It is an ideal way to explore the industry before committing to a full qualification.

Accredited Units Included

These nationally recognised units form part of the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, creating a direct pathway into the full qualification:

HLTWHS001 – Participate in workplace health and safety

CHCPRT025 – Identify and respond to children and young people at risk

CHCECE055 – Meet legal and ethical obligations in children’s education and care

Skills for Study, Work & Life

You’ll also build essential foundation skills through:

Employability skills – Key workplace expectations in Early Childhood

Study skills – Strategies to support current and future learning

Career planning – Exploring job options and setting career goals

Wellbeing support – Supporting a smooth transition into work or study

LLND skills – Strengthening language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills

Your Pathway Forward

Once these accredited units are completed, you’ll be well placed to enrol directly into the full Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, accelerating your journey into the industry.
