This unit addresses assisting clients with medication, including providing physical assistance with medication to clients, and/or supporting clients with self-medication, in accordance with the client’s health/support/care plan and in line with jurisdictional requirements. It may involve distribution and administration of prescribed and over-the-counter medications within a residential care facility, or in a home or community setting.

  *Attendance at both days is required. The first day of training is the delivery of the theory knowledge and the second day is to complete the practical assessments and any outstanding theory. Practical assessment appointment times are scheduled by the Trainer.

**The theory component is completed by eLearning and will be required to be completed outside of scheduled training days. Access to a device and internet will be required to complete the theory component.

***All training components must be completed no longer than 3 months from the start date of the training. Failure to complete within this timeframe will result in withdrawal from the course. No notification or refund will be issued.

This training is accredited; on successful completion you will be issued a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment.
