Provide First Aid in an education and care setting

HLTAID012
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

This unit applies to a range of workers within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthma and anaphylactic emergencies. This includes early childhood workers and educators who work with school age children in outside school hours care and vacation programs.

**A pre-requisite for this unit is to be able to perform CPR on the floor for a period of 2 uninterrupted minutes and complete prior online learning.

Online Learning
You will require basic computer skills, access to a device and internet to access the compulsory prior online learning. Use of a tablet or computer is recommended. The duration to complete the online learning varies relative to your language and literacy skills, computer skills, prior knowledge and formal training and/or experience in the subject.

This training is accredited, on successful completion you will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment.
