Safe Environments – Through Their Eyes Refresher is a child protection training program developed by the Department of Human Services (DHS), South Australian Government. This refresher course is designed for individuals who have previously completed Safe Environments – Through Their Eyes training and need to renew their knowledge and maintain their understanding of child protection responsibilities. Participants will revisit key principles of child protection, strengthen their ability to recognise, respond to, and report concerns about children and young people who may be at risk of harm, and remain informed about current child-safe practices and legislative requirements.
Delivered by a Department of Human Services (DHS), South Australian Government approved facilitator.
Please note: This is a non-accredited course. Participants who successfully complete the training will receive a Statement of Attendance.

Online Delivery: This course is delivered live via Microsoft Teams. Participants will engage in facilitated discussions and interactive learning activities in a virtual classroom environment. To participate, learners will require a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access, a microphone, and a camera. Attendance and active participation throughout the session are required to successfully complete the training and receive a Statement of Attendance.

- Risk and harm under South Australian legislation
- Risk and harm: abuse-related trauma
- Sexual abuse
- Through Their Eyes: disclosure
- Child-safe environments in organisations
- Reporting suspicions of risk and harm
This training is suitable for:
- Individuals who have previously completed Safe Environments – Through Their Eyes training and are due to renew their certification.
- Anyone whose 3-year Safe Environments certificate is approaching expiry.
Online Delivery: This course is delivered live via Microsoft Teams. Participants will engage in facilitated discussions and interactive learning activities in a virtual classroom environment. To participate, learners will require a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access, a microphone, and a camera.
